In 2025, I received a commission to upcycle a stunning set of wool West Point jackets into a set of throw pillows. The jackets had been in storage for decades, but were still in excellent vintage condition. We were able to preserve the handwritten labels from all three jackets, dating them back to 1959, and highlight the unique features of each.
Taking sentimental items and turning them into something that clients will interact with and use every day is the most rewarding type of upcycling work. It was an honor to get to work with these meaningful materials, and I'm thrilled that they will now have a new life outside of storage.
